Stephen King continues to captivate audiences with his compelling stories, and the latest addition to the list of adaptations is "The Boogeyman." First published in 1973 and later included in King's renowned collection "The Night Shift" in 1978, this chilling tale is now being brought to life as a feature-length film.

"The Boogeyman" adaptation was first announced in 2018, with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods taking on the task of co-writing the screenplay. The duo, recognized for their work on the highly acclaimed film "A Quiet Place," faced a setback in 2019 when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, leading to a temporary pause in the production.

Mark Heyman, known for his involvement in "Black Swan," will be penning the screenplay based on the original script by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Shawn Levy, the founder of 21 Laps Entertainment, will co-produce the film alongside Dan Levine and Dan Cohen.

The talented cast of "The Boogeyman" includes Chris Messina as Will, the grieving father; Sophie Thatcher as Sadie; Vivien Lyra Blair as Sawyer; David Dastmalchian as Lester; Marin Ireland as Rita; Madison Hu in an undisclosed role; and Lisa Gay Hamilton as Dr. Weller.

"The Boogeyman" has generated excitement with its release of teaser trailers and a full trailer, giving viewers a glimpse of the chilling presence of the Boogeyman and the torment faced by the family.
