As the lives of History Channel's hit reality TV series pawn stars revolve around estimating, purchasing and selling rare historical items and considering the amount of years they've been in business, Rick Harrison, Corey Harrison, The Old Man and Chumlee were bound to cross paths with a criminal or two even though they didn't know it straight away. Despite the fact that the Harrisons are considered to be veterans of the business, some stolen items have occasionally slipped through the cracks. Technically speaking, when a pawn shop unknowingly buys something that has been stolen, they could get charged with purchasing and possessing stolen property, but since it is difficult to prove that the buyer knew it was stolen, the purchasing charges are usually dropped and the problematic items are confiscated and returned to their rightful owners if possible.
