From her humble European roots to her bicoastal US career, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and DJ, Alissia, has become a bona fide force of funk whose spectacular stylings are injecting some much-needed soul into the modern musical landscape. Alissia grew up alongside Motown tracks with legends like Larry Graham, Bootsy Collins, and Louis Johnson as household names, so it was all but inevitable that she would begin her sonic odyssey with the bass guitar. Fast-forward to today, and Bootsy Collins, Prince, George Clinton, and Quincy Jones are just a few of the funk/soul icons whose attention this tastemaker has captured with her distinct approach to melding and blending genres. Her contemporary collaborators include Masego, Ari Lennox, Khalid, Mark Ronson, Anderson .Paak, and many more, and she imbues tracks with an unbridled panache that allows her to grow and experiment with the versatile musicianship born from her funk roots.
