American Woman is a song by Canadian rock band the Guess Who, released January 1970, from the album of the same name.
American singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz covered "American Woman" for the soundtrack of Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
It was released as a single in May 1999 and was later included on the reissue of Kravitz's album 5. Kravitz's version is slower and softer than the original, without the signature guitar solo; he later said to Randy Bachman that the reason why he skipped the lead guitar part was "I couldn't get the sound. I couldn't get the tone."
The music video (directed by Paul Hunter) featured actress Heather Graham (who starred in The Spy Who Shagged Me); the original political themes of the song were largely replaced by sex appeal.
"Just Let Go" is a documentary filmed in Paris, Prague, Łódź, Memphis, New Orleans and New York over the course of six months in 2014 and 2015 and is the story about relationships between Lenny Kravitz and his band and why, despite him being a solo artist, these musicians are so vitally important to him both personally and professionally.
"Just Let Go"combines full live performances from Lenny Kravitz's 2014 European Tour with interviews and rehearsal footage to give a unique insight into the creative process behind Lenny Kravitz's music and the staging and presentation of his live performances. The film contrasts the intimacy of conversations with Lenny and his band and footage from rehearsals and behind the scenes on the tour with the spectacular live performances of his best loved tracks including "It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over", "Are You Gonna Go My Way", "Let Love Rule", "Fly Away", "The Chamber", "American Woman", "Dig In" and more.
