Boy Destroy - Light It Up, Put It Out (Official Visualiser)

The song is written from the perspective of this devil-like character. Taking advantage of someone in a way that represents both me and people I’ve known. Not evil in the common sense of the word, not actively pushing towards darkness, rather being the darkness itself. The same way the knife used to kill someone isn’t evil, the person wielding the weapon might be. But once that door has opened its hard to close it shut. The paranoia seeps in, becomes a part of you. Friends, you don’t need them, the void gets you like no other person ever could, it gives you power. Then it starts to take and once it starts to take it won’t stop until it’s gotten its pound of flesh. I mention the suicide cult Heaven’s Gate in the bridge, I tried getting into that mindset, that tranquillity of doom.
