Caught On Camera SWAT Team Takes Down Pawn Shop Burglar After He Threatens To Harm Them

Around 6am this morning Fort Lauderdale Police responded to Lucky Pawn and Jewelry located at 3029 Davie Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They received a call from the owner who saw a man inside his business on his surveillance cameras. Officers responded quickly and surrounded the building. The man was still inside when they arrived and wouldn't come out. He instead barricaded himself inside. The Pawn Shop has numerous firearms inside, the subject called 911 and advised them that he would not be going down alone, threatening a shootout. The SWAT team was requested to come to the incident location. SWAT negotiators finally convinced the man to come out so they would not have to go in and get him. As he was approaching the SWAT team he would not comply with their commands and refused to put his hands up. At one point he began to reach towards his waist area and SWAT members used a non-lethal weapon to take the suspect down. He was transported to a hospital to be checked out before his ride to jail.
