When Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019, they not only gained control of the X-Men franchise but also the ability to reboot it entirely. And while the first round of X-Men films helped propel Hugh Jackman to stardom as Wolverine, it seems that Marvel Studios may be looking to Chris Evans to take on the role. Yes, that Chris Evans—the same one who portrayed Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Collider, Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo said they would love to see Evans don the adamantium claws and yellow spandex. Joe Russo went as far as to say, "I’d love to see him as Wolverine." Evans himself seems open to the idea, telling the hosts of Good Morning America that "it’s a cool idea," but "it’s just a lot of knives, I’ve been there, you know?" While fans may be divided on the idea of Evans as Wolverine, it's clear that the possibilities for the X-Men franchise are endless now that Marvel Studios is in control.
