I. The meaning of the events before Jesus’ ministry

a) The forerunner (1:1-8)

b) Baptism of Jesus (1:9-11)

c) Temptation of Jesus (1:12-13)

d) Inauguration of ministry (1:14-15

Jesus’ preparation for ministry showed the essence of the gospel: Jesus walked as us.


II. Be a gospel-driven disciple

“repent and believe the gospel”










III. Follow Jesus into ministry

Jesus walked as us, that we might walk as Him.
