Number 5: Auction Loss
If the World Famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop can't retail an item, they always have the option of still turning a profit by sending it to auction. Usually, this is usually a cool way for them to earn a good amount of profit. That's what Rick tried to do with several big-ticket items including "a 1940s Indian Motorcycle with a sidecar and a Vic Flick owned and played Fender Stratocaster," which he put on the block at Julien's Auctions in Los Angeles, according to The Indy Channel. Unfortunately, he took a hit for "$29,000 on the motorcycle, and $35,000 on the guitar." Ouch. He must not have done well with some other items either, because he reported his total loss at around $100,000.
"Sold most of my items, getting my a** handed to me and it doesn't feel good. Trying to look for a silver lining I just can't find it. I'm dreading going back to the shop," Rick said on the "Rick's Roulette" episode. Some people's children, right, Old Man?

Number 4: 1932 Ford Roadster Model B ($75,000)
Vintage car models are a possession enough to make anyone turn in their seats. When Rick was invited to come to check out a 1932 Ford Roadster Model B, he knew it was a lifetime opportunity. To their surprise, when they got to the car it was in surprisingly good condition. Rick had taken his song along for the trip and they both loved the car. Designed by Henry Ford's son Edsel, this gorgeous hunk of a car had 500 horsepower and a unique combo of folding convertible top and roll-up windows, making it a vehicle for all weather conditions. The only real problem - the owner was asking the steep price of $105,000 for it.

Number 3: 2014 Hertz Penske GT Mustang
It's more common to find the guys on Pawn Stars dealing with coins and diamonds or other antique objects. However, not only small items are sold at the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. An example of this is a rare 2014 Hertz Penske GT Mustang which a customer drove down to the shop to strike a deal. The car came from Hertz's "Rent-A-Racer" program, which partnered up with Roger Penske in 2014 to create 150 of these limited edition vehicles. This particular car wasn't just any one of the 150 but was one of the first 10 built. The car also has a six-speed manual and has never been rented. This left it in great condition.

Number 2: 1966 Imperial Crown Convertible
If you ask most people under a certain age these days what cars “Imperial” has made, they’ll look at you blankly. The Imperial Crown was originally the name of a Chrysler model, but it became its own brand in 1955. This stunning car was a huge success. We’re not sure how much the car cost the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop at the outset but apparently, it took “The Old Man” a full 15 years to convince the seller to sell it to him.
That’s already a loss since it went to the Old Man and not the shop, but then there were $10,000 in damages done to the car after its engine went kaput one day, which puts the shop in the hole even more. Talk about a big loss! It was even more shocking because Rick was a car expert himself and it was expected that he would make a better choice.

Number 1: 1987 Jaguar Xj6 Series Ii
At first glance, this seems like a terrific buy for the Pawn Stars crew: the 1987 Jaguar XJ6 is a pretty good looking car in that classic Jaguar sense. It had 113,000 miles on it when it was brought into the shop, and the owner wanted $5,000 for it. Rick offered $2,200, then $2,500, and that was the selling price. Good work.
Then he brought it to Danny Koker of Count’s Kustoms and threw another $3,500 into for new chrome wheels, a fix-up, and a new two-colored paint job with a pinstripe on the hood. So they only sunk $6,000 into this one and could have sold it for more, but the big loss came when Rick turned around and gave it to the Old Man! Apparently, the Old Man has become a major source of expenses for the shop. But this isn't without considering that the car was already a loss to the shop because of low resale value.
