In all of the interviews I’ve conducted with legendary artists about the great songs, you hear about songs they had no clue would be a hit, some that they thought might be, and every now and again their are songs that are just no brainer hits. Well this next song to me is a no doubt about it smash hit. from the first 3 seconds it knocks you sideways silly. Good Lovin by the Rascals. Who were first called the young rascals before changing their name. In fact when they released this song in February of 1966, they were the Young Rascals. the song went to number one in the spring of that year. The song first recorded by artist Lemme B. Good in March 1965 and written by Rudy Clark shortly after it was recorded with lyrics that were re written by R&B artists The Olympics that version went to #81 on the charts. It’s been covered a lot. It’s one of the songs that truly shaped music in arguably the greatest decade in popular music history.

Up next rock and roll hall of famer singer and keyboardist Felix Cavaliere of the original band tells the story of recording this smash hit.
