Today In The Show with FREDDIE is DAVID HINDS a Reggae Artist and the Founding Member, Producer, Rhythm Guitarist and Lead Vocalist for the Reggae Group Steel Pulse from Handsworth, Birmingham UK.
His Music Career Started In 1975. During The Time, The Music Out Of Jamaica became a major influence on David Hinds Perception on Life in Years To Come. His First Single With Steel Pulse for Island was the ''Ku Klux Klan'' single, a title at the Evils of Racism, and one often accompanied by a visual parody of the sect on stage. By this time their Ranks had swelled to include Selwyn Brown (Keyboards), Steve Grizzly Nisbett (Drums), Alphonso Martin (Vocals, Percussions) and Mykaell Riley (Vocals). Their Debut Album, Handsworth Revolution (Recorded in 1977 and Released in 1978), was part of the evolution of Roots Reggae outside Jamaica. However, despite critical and moderate commercial success over three albums, the relationship with Island Records had soured by the advent of their third album, Caught You (Released in the US as Reggae Fever.)
In This Interview, He Speaks About His Experience as the Lead Singer of Steel Pulse, His Music Journey, Dreadtown, Do The Right Thing (1989).
