Merging driving synths with dark, neon-streaked imagery equally inspired by vintage cyberpunk, horror, and sleaze, Waves_On_Waves in collaboration with People Theatre (France), Mondmann (Germany), Vortex85 (Italy), STREETEMPTY (Portugal), SHIKIMO (US), Neutron Dreams (US), Katrine Stenbekk (Norway), Let Em Riot (US), Natsukime (France), Crimewave (UK), Pastel Arcade (US), Runaway Droid (Finland), Death By Algorithm (UK), To the Stars We Return (US), Castles Made Of Sky (US), Raydar (Canada), Nebula Black (US), and others present a darkwave masterpiece, “Synthony Of Destruction” - a play off of Megadeath’s 1992 song “Symphony Of Destruction.” The mind altering sonics and phantom overtones throughout Synthony Of Destruction come just in time for Halloween. As if recorded at a post-industrial seance for Nine Inch Nails, Crystal Castle, and Depeche Mode, Waves_On_Waves and his freakishly talented collaborators manage to reinvent heavy metal for the modern ear, breathing life into its corpse. This goth-rock revival fuses high-res electronic noise and pop hooks so effortlessly it can seem accidental. Yet, beneath the dramatic darksynth production and atmospheric electronic elements are real songs with infectious melodies that will grip you to the bone as if by a dead man’s hand, haunt you like a ghost, and take you on a dark and beautiful journey.
