The State IS seeking the death penalty against Stephan Sterns for the death of Madeline Soto. Discovery also reflects that the police are seeking information about Jenn Soto's email and iPhone accounts, which one would expect.

Case Background: Madeline Soto was last seen on February 26th, 2024. Her body was found five days later in a wooded area less than an hour from home and her mother's boyfriend was arrested. Stephan Sterns's phone revealed disgusting evidence of what he has been doing to Madeline since she was at least 8 years old.
