They say don’t judge a book by its cover. At a glance, the outward appearance of Jaten Dimsdale, aka Teddy Swims, is an amalgamation of ZZ Top and a high-fashion boutique owner. His face tats bring Post Malone to mind, the beard is Stapleton-esque. When Teddy opens his mouth, a honey-drizzled croon emerges, and the rasp accompanying it brokers a deep sense of soul. The smooth recipe uses a lil funk, a lil R&B and a dash of hip-hop. On his wildly popular YouTube channel, his HD covers ranging from Shania Twain to Summer Walker bank hundreds of thousands of views. The name “Swims” is an acronym for “someone who isn’t me sometimes.” It’s perhaps a nod to his varied interests and shapeshifting musicality - one that’ll keep fans on their toes while earning him new listeners. “Picky” is Swims latest gem, and it’s got a super fun music vid to go along with it.
