‘LOVE LETTERS’ was one of the first songs written for the album. What was initially a slow, sultry ballad more in the style of a Bond theme, ended up being spun through a four on the floor motown-meets-punk-rock turbocharger. Pounding drums, thumping bass and a wall of guitar set the scene. LOVE LETTERS is the dawning panic that the lustre is fading, the well is drying up, the Thrill Is Gone. The realisation that... Baby, you don’t write me love letters any more.
